John Lydon Praises Lady Gaga

John Lydon isn't usually one for heaping praise on pop stars but in the case of Lady Gaga the former Sex Pistols frontman is happy to make an exception.

According to the outspoken singer, not only does he admire her rise in the "corrupt" music business but to a certain extent believes he deserves credit for her success.

Speaking to the LA Times, he said, "I have done something good that Lady Gaga is so quite as mentally insane as she is. There's someone out there -- yeah, ultimately just shock, but the lyrics are so good. They really are. And so every now and again, as corrupt as the music industry is, there is one in there that can manipulate it properly. She's one. So applause to her."

Gaga Reveals 'Born This Way' Plans to Ellen

Gaga called in to Ellen DeGeneres’ Show 26th January to wish her a happy birthday. Gaga also talked about her upcoming CD Born This Way and revealed that she will perform the title track at the 53rd Grammy Awards.

GaGa’s manager says she overachieved on “Born This Way”

The Wall Street Journal reports that Coalition Media Group CEO and founder Troy Carter, who manages Lady Gaga, is understandably excited about her new album, Born This Way.

“She’s overachieved on this new album,” Carter said. “You never know what to expect in terms of where an artist is going to go after they’ve had as much success as she’s had.”

“It has a certain level of soulfulness to it,” Carter continued. “I’m looking forward to seeing the public’s reaction to it.”

Carter also said that sometime next week, Lady Gaga will announce details of a major television project she’s planning with a network.

‘The Fame’ reaches four million sales mark in US

Gaga’s debut album The Fame (re-released as The Fame Monster in November 2009) this week tops the four million sales mark in the United States. The number doesn’t include the Fame Monster 8-track EP, which was released separately in selected countries and has sold an additional 1.4 million copies to date.

"Edge Of Glory" new track from Born This Way

Stephen Hill, who is the VP of Music Programming at BET, took his Twitter account to reveal some news about Lady Gaga’s upcoming album Born This Way, due for release in May. Hill described the six “crazy” tracks he has heard as “aural energy that had my speakers gasping for water afterwards” and revealed a song title, which is… “Edge of Glory”

On Monday morning, Lady Gaga finished shooting the music video for her new single “Born This Way” off the upcoming album of the same title. Stylist Nicola Formichetti, who works with Gaga on all her videos, described the clip as “the most amazing thing ever.”

House of Diehl to create seven dresses for GaGa

The avant-garde fashion label House of Diehl received an e-mail late Monday from one of Lady Gaga’s stylists. “Are you guys around? We need seven dresses for a video shoot by this Friday,” the note read, according to Roman Milisic, one half of House of Diehl.

Mary Jo Diehl, the creative force and namesake behind House of Diehl and Milisic’s wife, said, “No problem, we don’t do ready-to-wear, we do ready-to-rumble!”

Turning around seven dresses in three days is a daunting, if not impossible, task. But for a small New York label like House of Diehl, getting your clothes in a Lady Gaga video is a huge break.

“Gaga can choose a dress by anybody in the whole world, and who else wears avant garde fashion?” said Milisic on Tuesday, from House of Diehl’s live-work space on West 26th Street. “All of her clothes in her last video were from Alexander McQueen, so this is great!”

Milisic and Diehl don’t have any details about the video, nor any guarantees that their outfits will be chosen for it. They know, though, that their garments will be among the options for a video from a song off Gaga’s upcoming album, “Born This Way,” which reportedly begins shooting next week.

Gaga and Anderson Cooper visit the LES (19/01/11)

Gaga was spotted outside of her old LES apartment on January 19th, filming new footage for her 60 Minutes interview with Anderson Cooper. According to onlookers, Gaga and Anderson entered her old apartment building for a tour.

Afterwards, the pair walk toward Clinton Street, where a police car pulls up. Lady Gaga says hello, etc. They move on. Then! The police car pulls in front of 176 Stanton, where someone who could be the super emerges and starts screaming and gesturing. Basically, he’s pe-od that Lady Gaga got into the building… Minutes later, the super is still screaming.

Gaga to Preview 'Born This Way' Track Today

Gaga is set to preview a track from her upcoming album Born This Way today. A remix of the song will be played during the Thierry Mugler menswear show in Paris at 6 p.m. CET. Stylist and creative director of the fashion house Nicola Formichetti said:

“The track is very, very hard, but pop at the same time. It is really amazing. When I heard it, I said, ‘That’s Mugler.’ She’s remixing it especially for the show.”

The recording of the show will be published on www.Mugler.com on Thursday, January 20th. Stay tuned for updates!

Gaga to Make Music for Thierry Mugler

Nicola Formichetti, the new creative director at the Thierry Mugler fashion house and stylist to Lady Gaga, has tapped the pop sensation to create an exclusive soundtrack for his men’s wear show in Paris on Wednesday.

He told WWD that Gaga would be “musical director” for the show, among the most anticipated debuts of Men’s Fashion Week, which runs through Jan. 23 in the French capital. Word has it she will remix a never-heard track from her forthcoming album, due out in May.

Emerging pop superstar JESSIE J has dubbed the British music scene 'rubbish' in an exclusive interview.

Jessie - who's just clinched the Brit Award Critic's Choice gong - says the industry needs a good shake-up... and I have to say I couldn't agree with her more.

Snuggling in her dressing room at the Brits launch this week Jessie, 22, fumed: "The British music scene is rubbish right now. There are no artists pushing boundaries. There are no female artists in the UK that mix things up. I didn't come into this to be a puppet.

"I've got a lot to prove and I'm here for a reason and I'm going to make a point."

Jessie - dressed in a fabulous gold metal conical bra, teensy hotpants and towering heels - went on to say Lady Gaga has made artists like Leona Lewis seem 'boring' by comparison.

She said: "Of course Gaga is incredible but she's set the bar so high for everyone else.


"She's made normal artists and music 'boring' which really bothers me. It p***** me off when people say Leona's boring. No she's not.

"Personally, I don't do the style thing to be an artist that people can't relate too. I'm no fantasy artist. I've got an opportunity to dress up and any girl would love to do this."

Jessie is riding high in the charts with debut single Do It Like A Dude and will pick up her gong at the Brit Awards on February 15 at the O2 Arena.

But you won't catch this young lady hitting the after-shows in a drunken mess - she's dry!

She revealed: "I don't drink, party or do drugs because this voice is my bacon. Without it I'm nothing. I go clubbing but I won't ever talk. I want this voice to buy me a house, a car and spread my music around the world."

The Brit pop music scene has been starved of somebody outspoken, sexy and daring who pushes limits for years now. So I'm thrilled all that's about the change with the arrival of Jessie J.
